My Background

I received my BA in Psychology and Child Development from San José State University in 2001 and MSW in Clinical Social Work from UC Berkeley in 2003. I have experience teaching in elementary classrooms, with ESL adults and adults re-entering from the prison system. I have extensive experience advocating for patients in the hospital setting. I worked for years as a child advocate with foster youth, have been a therapist for foster youth and neurodivergent youth, and helped the public health department create the Coalition for Alcohol and Drug Free Pregnancies in Santa Clara County. I am a Senior Lecturer at San José State University, where I have taught child and adolescent development for the past sixteen years.
